Ylitalo Oy, Market Garden has been growing high quality potted plants on the Finnish market since 1981. Our goal is to continuously develop production methods and our organization. We pay close attention to quality issues and therefore the environmental issues.
Our greenhouse total area is 3,5 hectares. The productions heavy phases has been significantly facilitated by using a portable cultivation tables that are moved to different workstations and rooms by automatically controlled cranes and a train mechanics. Along with modern production facilities, we also have a high quality social- and office premises as well as a beautiful winter garden.

Environment and quality
Our company wants to participate in the protection of the Earth’s living conditions and therefore we aim to take the environment into account.
- The heat needed is produced by woodchips and the third part of the electrical energy is purchased as bioenergy.
- With our closed irrigation system we save water and fertilizer to approx. 70% compared to an open irrigation system. Recycling the irrigation water minimizes the consumption of water and nutrients. In a closed system, nutrients cannot drift into the wild.
- Pest control is carried out almost entirely by biological methods.
- With our automatic energy- and blackout curtains we can get the timing of flowering precisely right and have the highest achievable energy savings. The growth lights allow us to cultivate all year round.
Our goal is simple to produce high quality potted plants for Finnish consumers with skilled people and modern manufacturing process with minimal impact on the environment.
